A friend of mine just bought his third Harley Sportster, and boy, does he like that bike. He had a bigger Harley, but decided that the Sportster was just the kind he wanted. Since he drives long distances for work, he wanted something that got great mileage, and the Harley Sportster fits the bill. A Harley Davidson motorcycle is revered as a fantastic bike, and these bikes have great reputations for reliability and performance. As a dedicated Harley rider, he keeps the maintenance up on the bike, which is not inexpensive. A Harley Sportster costs about $2,000 a year to maintain at factory specification levels. This maintenance fee includes tires, which are not cheap on Harleys. The Harley Sportster is one good looking bike, as well. He keeps it very clean, and claims that these bikes have good resale value. He has yet to take it to the mountains, where he could really see how well it performs on tight curves and steep up and down grades. On weekends, it is not uncommon to see huge groups of Harley riders on day trips in the mountains in Arizona.
