Here is a post for all of you history buffs that want to learn more about the major events that have shaped the Harley Davidson motorcycle. In 1903, William Harley created the first production Harley Davidson motorcycle for racing. By 1909, Harley Davidson motorcycle introduced their first v-twin motorcycle. The v-twin engine would become synonymous with Harley Davidson motorcycle. In 1910, the traditional Harley Davidson motorcycle "Bar and Shield" icon was created that was soon to be patented. By 1920, Harley Davidson motorcycle was the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. Did you know that Harley Davidson motorcycle helped to create the first Japanese motorcycles after they sold the Sankyo Company motorcycle layouts, tools and the proper machines to build a long lasting bike. I think this fact is one of the most interesting considering where the Japanese have now gone in terms of bikes compared to the Harley Davidson motorcycle.
