The Harley Davidson motorcycle. An American icon. The motorcycle of choice for many of Hollywood's best motorcycle movies. Harley or Hog riders tattoo the Harley name and image on their arms, the true fanatical Harley Davidson riders store the Harley in the living room over the winter, and a few have even named their children after them. From the moment William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson, along with Arthur's brother Walter, a skilled mechanic and machinist, built the first 25 cubic inch Harley Davidson motorcycle with a spark plug as large as a doorknob and carburetor allegedly made from a tomato can a legend was born. Harley Davidson motorcycles have gone to war for America in both world wars rendering valuable service and many former soldiers bought a Harley after the wars.  Harley Davidson motorcycles spawned the chopper style of motorcycle in the late 1950's and while this custom look went out of style in the late 1970's it is now back in style.
